Smartphone Purchases Skewing Toward Prime Political Audience: Young and Ethnic

Nielsen reports that a higher percentage of ethnic minorities are buying smartphones over feature phones.  Plus Android is making big gains with these groups.

We’ll continue to see evidence of growing adoption of smartphones (50% of the US market by 2012 has been predicted), and of course more and more of the >40 crowd will trade in their Blackberries for iPhones and Android devices.

Political and advocacy campaigns that ignore the mobile channel will miss a huge opportunity to engage this critical voter group.
